Groopic, a Smart Phone App by Lahore Based Eyedeus Labs, Gets Global Recognition

Pakistan is a land of opportunities and talented people. This verity has again been put to light by techrepreneurs of Eyedeus Labs, a startup created under a platform of Plan9, Technology incubator out of Lahore.
Every now and then, quite lot groups of dynamic young tech entrepreneurs come with innovative ideas congregating to invent mobile apps that are surely willing to change the way of doing business with the rest of the world.
This time, just a while ago, buzzing out internet and international media, young group of entrepreneur’s hard work got recognition by CNNN in visage of Groopic smartphone app that outshined tech environment.

10th Annual PASHA ICT Awards 2013 Held


The tenth annual P@SHA ICT Awards 2013 took place at a gala event in the capital Islamabad on Saturday. This is the first year that this event has been held in Islamabad having originally been held in Karachi and Lahore during previous years.
The who’s who of the Pakistani ICT sector hob-nobbed with representatives from embassies, government, business sector and from academia at a star-studded event that buzzed with energy showing once again that the Pakistan ICT sector was alive with innovation.
The P@SHA ICT Awards aim to recognize the best innovative technology products and solutions being  developed in Pakistan and to  acknowledge creativity, innovation and excellence in Pakistan’s Information and Communications Technologies sector.

YouTube Likely to be Unblocked Soon as URL Filters Have been Tested

Reports are emerging that URL filters, that can block blasphemous content available on YouTube and other websites, have been in place and tested well as trial.
After this, it is likely that YouTube will get unblocked in Pakistan after approvals from top most government officials.
Media reports suggest that URL filter has been provided by PTCL, and they will provide services to government for a period of one year.
