Microsoft Releases the Office Suite for iPad

Microsoft has finally released the Office suite of apps especially made for the iPad, after years of wait.
The suite, which comprises of Word, Excel and PowerPoint can be tried out for free when it will hit the App Store shortly.
Additional functionality, including editing and creating new documents, requires an Office 365 subscription. Office Mobile for iPhone and Android is also being made free.

Google Starts Showing Pakistani Currency for Apps on Play Store

Google has included Pakistan in the list of supported countries for showing local currency for Google Play products.
After this, Google’s Play Store is now showing prices for apps  for users in Pakistan in Pakistani rupees, which will mean that Pakistani users can now make regular app purchases and in-app purchases in local currency.
Move will not only benefit users but will also let the local developers to set the prices for their apps in local currency.

Smartphone App Tries to Eliminate the Wait Time During Helpline Calls

Appography, a Lahore based tech start-up, has come up with a solution to entirely eliminate the wait time that customers have to face during helpline or support calls.
VIVID, a smartphone app, when integrated with contact centre solution of a company, will offer the customers a visual interface to get the right information they require.
Let’s assume if VIVID is integrated with a telco, Zong for instance, its customers will be able to get the entire IVR menu in visual format with more chances of getting to the right information through clicks of their thumbs.

Pakistan Made Android Game Crosses 40,000 Downloads Globally

Amongst thousands of racing games and its similar genre, there is this App called Warid Rickshaw Racing, which has managed to score downloads of over 40,000 in a short span of time.
Gaining phenomenal demand, the app has become one of the top performing apps in Pakistan. It has recently been pushed to the global arena with tremendous results.
The game features the players as the rickshaw driver (A three wheel vehicle) where one has to win the race. It allows players to customize their rickshaw and give it a unique cultural (desi) look.

47,000 Apps on BlackBerry World Are From One Developer

Every new OS which comes out in the market faces a major issue in the form of low apps. This is something which somewhat plagues the sales of Windows Phone and other smaller operating systems but BlackBerry seems to have found a way.
A new report tells us that over one-third of the apps in the BlackBerry World come from a single developer called S4BB. When it comes to larger apps from the developer, it’s fine but when you come down to the less popular one, that’s where the real problem starts.

Even though a lot of PC manufacturers have publicly rebuked Microsoft’s Windows RT, ASUS has become one of the first companies to actually ditch the OS, once and for all. The world’s fifth largest PC company decided to call it quits because of the losses incurred and the poor sentiments of the OS in the industry.
